Some days you can’t believe your luck. My first instinct was not excitement when my client called, asking for some assistance with a bankruptcy. In my job, when someone asks me that, I imagine a smelly sole trader corner shop or an off licence!
In this case, the assets of the bankruptcy consisted of a Porsche Panamera GTS and a Porsche Boxster, both low mileage and relatively new. Now, as a car nut, it’s great when I get to sell posh cars. In this case, I didn’t get to drive them. Gutted….
Obviously, both were on finance but there was equity in the Boxster. Unfortunately, not the Panamera. I had them collected, stored, and the Panamera was collected by the finance company a few days later. We sold the Boxster on Tootle. It’s the first time I used it and was impressed the result, achieving more than the valuation via a trade sale – a bonus with the Insolvency Service taking the first 6k of any proceeds of sale on a bankruptcy.
